NIKKI REED has revealed that she struggled to play Twilight Saga’s very own ice-queen, Rosalie Hale.
Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Nikki Reed today expressed her relief she had made it to the third movie in the blockbusting franchise – when fans discover Rosalie’s backstory – so everyone can understand why her character is so bitter.

Speaking at the Eclipse press conference in London ahead of tonight’s glittering UK premiere, Nikki said: “I was hopeful when we made the first movie that we’d make it to the third, otherwise I feel like I couldn’t justify Rosalie’s behaviour.”

The 22-year-old also said it was tough to convey the depth of Twilight author Stephanie Meyer’s fanged character on screen.

“Stephanie wrote these really complex and dynamic characters and sometimes I think that with the Cullen family you don’t always have a chance to show that, so you have to make the most of every opportunity,” she said.

“You end up over-thinking every glance, every look, and – in my case – every nasty look. I was really happy to have that opportunity… and really nervous.”
