Actress Nikki Reed battles vampires and rabid fans with the release of twilight.
About an hour before I meet Nikki Reed at L.A.’s famed Chateau Marmont, I get a text message: “Hey, it’s Nikki. Do you want to meet somewhere else?” After she picks a mom and pop coffeehouse on Melrose, blocks away from the trendy stores of Sunset Boulevard, she explains, “I know I should go through my publicist… but the Chateau is just so formal.” For an actress who just turned 20 and is about to appear in one of the most hyped movies of the year, Twilight, Reed is decidedly un-Hollywood. Wearing a flannel shirt and faded jeans, she is the antithesis of the Emmy party scene that has gone on all weekend. Did she go to any of the soirees? “No. I’m not on a show, so it feels wrong,” she says, though she did go to another event a few days earlier. “I went with Kristen [Stewart, her Twilight co-star], who happens to be, like, my best friend now. But once you’re in there, what do you do? You go, and it feels like, ‘Alright, let’s eat some hors d’oeuvres and chat.’ But why didn’t we just stay home and chat?”
Thanks to Lion & Lamb Love for the heads up on this and of course MTV for this awesome interview check it out below and read the rest at their site!
“Breaking Dawn” vampire Nikki Reed is one of the few people who have checked out the script for the upcoming “Twilight Saga” installment. And as the starlet tells it, the big wigs behind the flick are trying hard to keep it that way.
When MTV News chatted with Reed on the Scream Awards red carpet Saturday, she said the script is guarded so carefully that even well-known industry professionals have to jump through hoops to get a peek. Continue Reading
Get ready for the next installment of the Twilight saga! The star said the cast will be back together and working on Breaking Dawn in less than two weeks and spills on how she’s getting ready to reprise her role as Rosalie!
We got to catch up with Nikki Reed at the launch of the Swatch new gents collection at the Gansevoort Park Avenue on Oct. 6 in NYC, where she told us the whole cast will be back together in New Orleans to begin work on the Breaking Dawn set in no time!
While Twilight and Eclipse were shot in Vancouver, the star said the cast is first headed down south for the fourth movie. “I’m headed out there [to New Orleans] in just over a week,” she said.
While on location, the star will also be taking on another role — as a student! “I’ve signed up for five courses, but two were unavailable,” she said, saying that she plans to take language, English, and psychology classes in her free time.
So, what can we expect from Rosalie? Nikki said she wants fans to see the sympathetic side of her vampire character and hopes to humanize her. “I cross my fingers I can do it accurately.” In order to get back in to character, she said she re-read the book, Breaking Dawn and she has acting classes scheduled for next week and plans to prep up until she goes off to New Orleans! “I went through it last month once I got the scripts just to make sure nothing was missing.”
People always say they move to New York for “the energy,” but that’s not quite true. Really, they move to the big city for moments like last night, when we literally crashed (oops) into actress Nikki Reed. She was hosting the Swatch New Gent launch at the Gansevoort Park hotel, and once we got over the shock of tripping over a Cullen, we asked the actress and writer a few questions. Here’s what she said.
You’re wearing like four Swatches all together! You look like Molly Ringwald in an ’80s movie! I know, aren’t they cool? I like how simple they are. I think I learned how to tell time on one of these.
Besides Twilight, you’re in a new movie, Catch 44, with Deborah Ann Woll, right? She’s so amazing.Did you guys bond by talking about being vampires? Ha, no! (Pause) Okay, yeah, kind of. We did. But even though she’s so great on True Blood, she’s so different from that character. She’s so smart, and a little bit introverted, and just so thoughtful about everything. I actually wrote a story about her and her boyfriend, who’s also wonderful, on my blog.
How often do you blog? As much as I can. Writing has always been very important to me.You were a writer before you were an actress. Basically, yeah! It’s something I’ll always really love.
