Actresses Nikki Reed and Kat Dennings became music video stars on Sunday (06Jan13) by filming cameos for Hanson‘s new promo.

The band had appealed for extras to feature in the clip for their next single, which was shot in Hollywood – and the video is also set to star two famous faces.

Dennings took to her Twitter.com account after the shoot and told fans, “So today I fulfilled my dream of being in a Hanson music video. With my soul sister Nikki Reed. Thanks, life!”

A post written by Taylor Hanson on the group’s Twitter page declared, “This whole day was beyond anything we could hope for! Dreams fulfilled all around. I love this day!!”

Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald, both featured as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 soundtrack musicians, have spoken up about how exactly their dueting came to be.

Before marrying McDonald, Reed was a credited actress and screenwriter – appearing in the TwilightSaga as Rosalie Hale, of course – but thanks to a little spousal encouragement, she got the nerve to put her pipes on the line at long last.

Speaking to Young Hollywood (and also performing their song “All I’m Asking” from “The Best Part” EP), they explained the story as follows.

Paul: You know, I would just be playing the guitar around the house and she would just be singing. I guess, eh, who told us that ‘Hey, you guys should try to cut something?’

Nikki: It was you.

Paul: That was me? … Ah. I was like ‘Hey this is great.’

Nikki: Well, I was too afraid to sing for anyone anywhere. I was just like, well you know that’s like a difficult transition. You know, the whole crossover thing. And I loved singing but I didn’t think I was necessarily good enough to sing for people, and Paul you know he was really encouraging and through this, I feel like maybe if I can stand on a stage for a couple hundred people and say hey, I know I’m not the best at this, but I love what I do and I love writing and they’re getting into it too, ya know?

Twilight Saga actress Nikki Reed and her husband Paul McDonald completed a half marathon earlier this month and have now set their sights on competing in more endurance races. Nikki said “I want to become a better runner. We chose to run our first half marathon in December and now we have lined up five for 2013.”

Nikki is very excited about the turning of the year, because so many of her projects will come to fruition in 2013. She told Parade.com “I shot four really cool movies this year and I am so excited to see what comes of them. I am also excited to expand my music and my jewellery line with Pascal Mouawad because those are two projects that are very close to my heart.”

And the 24-year-old brunette, who has also been working on music with her husband this year, hopes to branch out with her career even more by writing a film and a novel. She said “I am constantly writing. I write monthly on my blog, and have several screenplay ideas in my head. Hopefully I can execute one once I can focus and give all of my attention to my writing. I also love the idea of someday writing a book!”
